Arsenal F.C: The Mentality Monsters

With only 12 games remaining every football fan worldwide has only one question on their mind "Are Arsenal really going to do it , are they going to win the premier league?". The last time they achieved this feat was in the 2003/04 season gaining 90 points in 38 games without losing a single match, giving them the title "The Invincibles" and still after a plethora of premier league seasons no team has been able to take their name off of this record.

Finishing fifth last season after just dropping out of the champions league places no one expected such a massive turn around in the Gunners's performances. At the beginning of the season Arsenal fans expected their to team to finish top four but considering now the possibility that their team can clinch their 14th premier league title after two decades is just insane. All of the credit goes to the players and of course their former player turned manager Mr. Mikel Arteta.

Along with their manager some credit has to go to their sporting director Mr. Edu Gaspar and the rest of their scouting department who helped in bringing quality players into the squad during the summer. By following their transfer policy of avoiding any bidding wars and not overpaying, Arsenal were able to secure the star signing of Gabriel Jesus from Manchester City FC along with Oleksandr Zinchenko and Fabio Viera from Porto FC. Determined to improve the depth of the squad the club decided to take action and brought in premier league experienced players like Leandro Trossard from Brighton and Hove Albion and Euros winner Jorginho from Chelsea FC for a combined fee of 39 million pounds which according to many pundits is a complete bargain.

A humbling 1-3 loss to their direct title rivals Manchester City at the Emirates made many people think that "the Elephant was about to fall from the tree". But despite being the second youngest squad in the league the passion ,the professionalism and the responsibility shown by the players on the field is second to one. This monstrous mentality was clearly evident in their next game against Aston Villa where the Gunners snatched a 2-4 win in the dying minutes of the game and deservedly so. Similarly, two weeks later being 0-2 down to the relegation bound cherries the players marched an emphatic comeback winning the game 3-2 with Reiss Nelson scoring the winner with the last kick of the game.

With their win against Bournemouth ,Arsenal fans seem to be "over the moon" and think that this is the champions temperament which was missing within the team in the previous seasons. Up next for the Gunners is a trip to Portugal for their Europa League tie against Sporting. The following weekend they will be taking part in a London derby against a resilient Fulham side who in the past have tested Arsenal to their limits.
